It was a privilege to spend this most beautiful Sunday afternoon in Washington D.C. with the Gonzalez family for this family photography session. We walked along the Tidal Basin, around the Jefferson Memorial, ending up down at the Potomac as the sun went down. I just so enjoyed getting to know this beautiful family as we walked, and talked and made photographs all along the way.
I was welcomed into Greta's home only 8 days after she was born to photograph her with her adoring family of 6. A few of the images of Greta conjure memories of my own newborns from years past. So brand new, so precious, truly a miracle. The older kids weren't too keen on having their photograph made that rainy morning. We had a lot of laughs about the morning, and did eventually come up with the family photo for a christmas card they were after. You've got good times ahead with your fun family, Greta!
I had the privilege of taking photographs of artist Carloyn Marshall Wright at her studio in McLean, Virginia. She is an artist working in watercolor and acrylic. Her work is frequently displayed in exhibits in the Washington D.C. area. This particular morning, she was finishing preparations for an upcoming art show. Hannah Schneider, accomplished violinist from Georgetown University, won the Rhodes Scholarship 2016. What a privilege to photograph her near the Georgetown campus last week as she prepared for her interviews. She's one of 32 Americans to receive this prestigious scholarship. Hannah is headed back to St. Petersburg Russia to continue her work with Russian conductor Valery Gergiev. Such exciting times for her as she looks forward to 2 years of life and study at Oxford. Way to go, Hannah!

Can't think of a more beautiful way to spend a morning than photographing a newborn baby boy with his sweet family in their Vienna home. On this fall morning, we wandered from basement to loft, to backyard porch of their beautiful home to capture life as it was happening. I was taken back to memories of those early weeks with 3 of my own baby boys in years past. This little guy is just the sweetest bundle, and to be there with him and his adoring mom and big brother, 'batman' was, well, a highlight of my week.
